TLBSPEDIA: DON RICKLES

Donald Jay Rickles was born on May 8 1926, in New York City, New York. The only child of Max, an insurance salesman, and Etta Rickles, he grew up in the Jackson Heights section of Queens, where he was actively involved in the local synagogue.

Following his graduation from Newtown High School in 1944, Rickles spent two years in the U.S. Navy. He then attempted to follow in his father’s footsteps as an insurance salesman before enrolling at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, where his classmates included Jason Robards and Grace Kelly.

CURIOSITIES ABOUT ‘MARRIED WITH CHILDREN’

In April 05 1987, one classic tv show of the 80’s premiered, ‘Married With Children’. The show is about Al Bundy, an unsuccessful middle aged shoe salesman with a miserable life and an equally dysfunctional family. He has a very attractive but lazy wife named Peggy who constantly nags him to death while throwing the little money he earns away on herself. He also has a very promiscuous teen aged daughter named Kelly who makes up in attractiveness what she lacks in IQ points, and a not so attractive but bright teen aged son named Bud who seems to think he is a ladies man.

CURIOSITIES ABOUT ‘POKÉMON’

In April 1 1997, was released one iconic cartoon of all time, ‘Pokémon’. The cartoon is about the ten-year-old boy, called Ash, who aspires to be the greatest Pokémon (pocket monster) trainer in the world. To do this, he enlists the help of two friends, Misty and Brock, and his own Pokémon, Pikachu. Together, they must search their world for all 150 Pokémon, while avoiding the likes of Team Rocket and their Pokémon, Meowth.

TLBSPEDIA: BILL PAXTON

With his rich, distinctively Texan voice and everyman looks, actor Bill Paxton, born in 1955, in Texas, has played a variety of roles, from offbeat characters to leading men. He grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, where his father worked in the family’s lumber business. Paxton’s father was also a supporter of the arts, and he frequently took his children to the movies and other cultural events.

Paxton had an interest in moviemaking from early on. After graduating from Arlington Heights High School in 1973, he spent time studying at Richmond College in England with his friend Danny Martin. There Paxton met fellow Texan Tom Huckabee. The three made Super 8 movies together when they returned to Texas.
